Project Preview: The 1847 Food Park

If you know anything about Portland, Oregon, you know that food cart pods are a staple of the city, and that reputation extends beyond its borders. Just a few miles south of Multnomah County, the city of Milwaukie offers a vibrant, tucked-away community full of character. With its walkable neighborhoods, riverside views, and growing food and brewery scene, it’s quickly becoming a destination in its own right.

That momentum is set to get a fresh boost from a new commercial development designed to deepen the city’s appeal. The 1847 Food Park— currently under construction in downtown Milwaukie—promises to be an exciting hub for locals and visitors alike. Featuring a three-story taphouse, a covered pavilion, and a thoughtfully designed plaza with rotating food trucks, this project will undoubtedly draw hundreds of food and craft beer lovers each month.

We’re proud to have contributed to this exciting addition to the community. Our team fabricated custom timber trusses for the taphouse and supplied a prefabricated materials package for the pavilion structure, bringing the natural warmth and strength of timber to a space built for connection and celebration.

The project is being led by Koble Creative Architecture, which designed the taphouse and public space, and RMCC Development LLC, which is overseeing development. Scheduled to open in Fall 2025, the 1847 Food Park is well on its way to becoming a local landmark.

We’ve included progress photos below to give you a glimpse into what’s taking shape. The best is yet to come, and we’re grateful to be part of building something so special for the community.
